Colossians 3:1-2

1-2 So if you're serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don't shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that's where the action is. See things from his perspective.

I have been reading in Timothy for the past week. When I woke up this morning and decided to read, Colossians 3 was on my mind. (I am so glad that I did read this chapter)

God has been dealing with me, for the past month or so, on my perspective. What is important and what isn't. This chapter deals with that.

The first 2 verses were amazing in themselves.

We are to act like we are in Christ. Stop worrying about the past, the present or the future. It does no good. We are to just stay focused on Jesus. Not taking our eyes off of who He is. In this, we will stop walking around feeling defeated, overwhelmed, fearful, etc. We will begin to see ourselves and those around us, the way that God does.

Everything else around us works itself out because God is in control. Ask God for wisdom and direction in everything. In

Matthew 6:32-34

The Message (MSG)

30-33"If God gives such attention to the appearance of wildflowers—most of which are never even seen—don't you think he'll attend to you, take pride in you, do his best for you? What I'm trying to do here is to get you to relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out. You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
34"Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

It is very clear that God takes care of everything. We just need to seek Him first above all. The Holy Spirit is our helper and comforter. That is what He is there for. Let Him be so in your life.

I don't know about you, but I need to read this from time to time, just to gain perspective.
Remember, if you have lost who you are through your family, your job, school, etc., just know that when we lean on Jesus Christ and seek Him, we begin to gain our identity in who we should be and who we were created to be.
